The Tech for Good Alliance
140 million volunteering hours are unused by UK employees every year. We bridge the gap between the tech industry’s advanced skillsets, corporate ESG goals, and the frontline digital needs of the third sector.
The 140 million hour opportunity
over 140 million hours of employer-supported volunteering time went unused in 2024, despite 62% of companies offering workplace volunteer schemes.[1] That’s equivalent to 75,000 employees working full-time to support civil society.
The participation rate for corporate volunteering sits at 11% on average in 2026. [2] Skills-based volunteering often stalls because finding, vetting, and managing highly specific digital projects for under-resourced charities takes time your managers don't have. Our mission is to stop that from being a problem.
Joining forces to create positive change
Created in 2022 by the Scottish Tech Army, The Tech for Good Alliance is now a pillar of the UK’s tech for good ecosystem.
Thanks to our work with corporates, hundreds of nonprofits and charities can access digital solutions they wouldn’t have had otherwise.
By harnessing even a small portion of the skills, creativity and talent of the tech sector, we can make sure the third sector have the tools and automations they need to focus on important and often life-saving front-line work.
Meaningful corporate volunteering projects, managed end-to-end for you
The Tech for Good Alliance delivers value to all of the organisations and individuals that participate in its work
Companies with resources of technology and talent

Third sector organisations and the people they support
By joining the Alliance, you’ll benefit from the learning and development and improved employee engagement that come with meaningful volunteering initiatives. We’re here to support your talent strategy and employer brand as well as the third sector organisations our work benefits.
An alliance with real impact
“What used to take one of my team two days a week now takes 20 minutes. The spare capacity is being well spent elsewhere.”
Kallum Taylor, Chief Officer @ York Neighbours
“Within 12 hours of the project being completed, it was already having a positive impact on my everyday life. ”
Nadia Lipsey, Member Services Manager @ Sported UK
“This project saves us £700 annually, which is huge for us. It’s equal to seven weeks or horse care, or 30 sacks of horse food.”
Amanda Namey, Service Manager @ Equi-Power Central Scotland RDA
“This project gave me a deep sense of purpose. Using design to support those affected by cancer is humbling and inspiring.”
Felicity Lois Nwanze, Skilled volunteer Product designer
Our members and partners
We are proud to work with leading organisations in the UK that are committed to making an impact and supporting their communities. Tech for Good Alliance members make up a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts, and they are at the heart of what we do.
We also work with a range of partners that support the work of the Alliance across all of the projects it delivers. These partners bring expertise, technology and relationships that are aligned with and strengthen the mission of the Alliance.
